September 16, 2022- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Taryn Hummer and Zackary Lippold were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club's Students of the Month for September. This program celebrates and recognizes student achievements by sustaining a culture of learning that values academic success and raises awareness of student contributions to the EAHS community.

Hummer is the daughter of Craig and Kristin Hummer of Elizabethtown. As a junior, the high school inducted Hummer into the prestigious T.H. Ebersole Chapter of the National Honor Society for exhibiting the four pillars of scholarship, character, leadership, and service.

Hummer takes part in numerous school activities. She is captain of the girls' soccer team and a key contributor to the girls' basketball team. In addition, she is active with Key Club, Book Club, Mini-THON, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Academically, Hummer was recognized for outstanding achievement and growth in forensic chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and strength and conditioning as part of the high school's underclass awards program.

In the community, Hummer is active with PA Classics club soccer. She volunteers with the IddyBiddy soccer program run by GEARS. In addition, she has traveled on mission trips and fundraised for the Appalachia Service Project. Her plans after graduation include attending a four-year college or university and majoring in biological sciences and/or chemistry.

Lippold is the son of Michael and Maria Lippold (Piedra) of Bainbridge. Lippold is active in numerous school programs. As a junior, the high school inducted Lippold into the prestigious T.H. Ebersole Chapter of the National Honor Society for exhibiting the four pillars of scholarship, character, leadership, and service.

Lippold is a member of the football and track and field teams. He also serves as an ambassador on the Student Lighthouse team. Academically, Lippold was recognized for outstanding achievement and growth in English and mathematics as part of the high school's underclass awards program.

In the community, Lippold volunteers with GEARS helping to keep score for youth basketball games. He has also supported numerous community events with the Bears football team. In addition, Lippold attends Community Bible Church in Marietta, PA.

After graduation, Lippold plans to attend a four-year college or university with interest in the medical field.
