October 7, 2021- Elizabethtown Area High School seniors Hana Connolly and Ryan Moyer were named the Elizabethtown Rotary Club's Students of the Month for October. This program celebrates and recognizes student achievements by sustaining a culture of learning that values academics success and raises awareness of student contributions to the EAHS community.

Connolly is the daughter of Dan and Nannette Connolly of Elizabethtown. As a junior, the high school inducted Connolly into the prestigious T.H. Ebersole Chapter of the National Honor Society for exhibiting the four pillars of scholarship, character, leadership, and service.

Connolly is heavily involved in numerous music programs at the high school. She plays the clarinet for the concert and marching bands, the viola for the orchestra, and sings in the concert and show choirs. She also supports the spring musical as part of the pit, cast, and stage crew. Connolly is secretary of the Key Club and a member of the Bible and Book Clubs.

Hana Connolly and Ryan MoyerIn the community, Connolly is active with the Hershey School of Dance and the Susquehanna Young Women's Choir. In addition, she is a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, where she is active in the children's and youth ministry programs.

Her plans after graduation include attending college to major in biology or exercise science, with the ultimate goal of becoming a chiropractor.

Moyer is the son of Roy and Tiffany Moyer of Elizabethtown. Also, having exhibited outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service, the high school inducted Moyer into the prestigious T.H. Ebersole Chapter of the National Honor Society in the spring of his junior year. In addition, Moyer is a committee captain for the Roots and Shoots club and a Quiz Bowl team member.

Moyer is a gifted artist, having earned awards in numerous local creative competitions. He won the 2021 LNP Design an Ad contest and the 2021 Congressional Art Competition for Pennsylvania's 11th District. Moyer earned a silver key and multiple honorable mention honors in the prestigious regional Scholastic Art Awards. He also placed third in the 2019 Art on the River competition.

A talented musician and performer, Moyer is a member of the high school orchestra, where he sits second-chair in the cello section.

In the community, Moyer is a volunteer at the Masonic Village.

After graduation, Moyer plans to take his love and talent for art to the collegiate level, pursuing a degree in graphic design. His career goal is to open his own small graphic design business.
