Lisa Sanchez, Lancaster County Parks and Recreation Commission, cooks up some good bugs for a snack... Fried, sauteed, roasted, poached... as long as you cook them, some bugs can taste as good as So, here's what's on the menu, today, folks. We only have the item on the left. Whatever you don't eat will look like the item in the middle tomorrow, and on Monday, you can crunch away on a mature black beetle... but beware... the shells get caught in your teeth like popcorn! Harold Engle signs a parental permission slip for his son, Kevin, to enjoy some insectual pleasures... Cooking the bugs is all about
THEY DON'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! (Now is a good time to note that you don't see our fearless leader Ralph anywhere near the hors d'oeuvres tray!) YES... WE ACTUALLY HAD SOME ROTARIANS (USUALLY KNOWN FOR THEIR GOOD SENSE) WHO CHOWED DOWN ON SOME OF THE SAUTEED CRITTERS... THEIR NAMES HAVE BEEN WITHHELD PENDING NOTIFICATION OF NEXT OF KIN... Kevin Engle enjoyed them so much, he grabbed a cup to take some home for his daughter. Dad is about to be very cool, or really gross!
